Praise the Lord—the Saviour who saves
You know the feeling.
Life is heavy. Fatherhood is demanding. The world feels uncertain. And sometimes, in the middle of it all, you wonder: Is there hope? Is there a way through?
There is.
His name is Jesus. And He is the Saviour of the world.
The lyrics you shared capture something profound—a truth that every father needs to anchor his soul in:
"For He made us a way, by which we have been saved,
He's the Saviour of the world.
So we lift up a shout for his fame and renown,
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord,
Jesus, Saviour of the world."
Let's reflect on what this means for us as fathers.
π What the Bible Says
He Made a Way
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
— John 14:6
We were lost. We were separated from God. We had no way to bridge the gap between our sin and His holiness.
But Jesus made a way. He didn't just show us the way—He is the way.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
— Romans 5:8
He Is the Saviour of the World
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
— John 3:16
"And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world."
— 1 John 4:14
Jesus is not just a saviour for some. He is the Saviour of the world. His salvation is available to every person, every father, every child.
We Lift Up a Shout
"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs."
— Psalm 100:1-2
"Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples."
— 1 Chronicles 16:23-24
We don't just believe in Jesus—we proclaim Him. We lift up a shout for His fame and renown. We tell the world who He is.
π What This Means for Fathers
You Have Been Saved
Before you are a father, you are a child of God. Before you are a provider, you are a recipient of grace. Before you lead your family, you have been led by the Good Shepherd.
Your identity is not first in your fatherhood—it is in your salvation.
When you know who you are in Christ, you can father from a place of security, not insecurity. You can lead from a place of grace, not guilt.
You Have a Story to Tell
Every father has a testimony. Every father has experienced the saving power of Jesus in some way. And your children need to hear it.
They need to know:
· What Jesus saved you from
· What Jesus saved you to
· How Jesus has been faithful through the years
Your story of salvation is part of your legacy.
You Are Called to Proclaim His Fame
"We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done."
— Psalm 78:4
Your children need to hear you praise the Lord. They need to see you worship. They need to know that Jesus is not just a Sunday morning habit—He is the Saviour of your life.
When you lift up a shout for His fame, your children learn to do the same.
The Gospel Is the Foundation of Your Legacy
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."
— 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
The most important thing you can pass on to your children is the gospel. Not wealth. Not success. Not comfort. The good news that Jesus saves.
That is the legacy that lasts for eternity.
π‘ How a Father Can Apply It Today
1. Praise the Lord Out Loud
Your children need to hear you praise God—not just in church, but at home. Sing worship songs. Share answered prayers. Speak of God's faithfulness.
Script:
"Let me tell you what God did for me today. Let me tell you how He answered that prayer."
2. Share Your Testimony with Your Children
Your children need to hear your story—how Jesus saved you, how He changed you, how He has been faithful.
Script:
"When I was younger, I was [lost/struggling/afraid]. Then Jesus found me. Here's what He did..."
3. Worship Together as a Family
Make worship a regular part of your family life. Sing together. Listen to worship music. Praise God as a family.
Script:
"Let's sing together. Let's praise the Lord as a family."
4. Point Them to Jesus Every Day
In the ordinary moments—when they're scared, when they're sad, when they succeed—point them to Jesus.
Script:
"When you feel afraid, remember: Jesus is with you. He is your Saviour."
5. Celebrate the Gospel
Don't let the gospel become old news. Celebrate it. Rejoice in it. Remind your children that they have been saved by grace.
Script:
"Do you know what Jesus did for us? He made a way. He saved us. Praise the Lord!"
π A Prayer for Fathers
"Lord Jesus, You made a way for me when there was no way. You saved me when I couldn't save myself. You are the Saviour of the world—and You are my Saviour. Help me to lift up a shout for Your fame and renown in my home. Help me to share Your story with my children. Help me to point them to You every day. Praise the Lord! In Your precious name, amen."
